Question What would be the best ignition modules ??? Info on them???

I am looking for some info on the 500 and 525 ignition modules.

The two rear engines have the 525 (848823-2) ignition modules and then center has a 5F23A V8-HP ignition module. I am looking for any timing info and rev limiter info on these modules.

I am looking at doing all three the same so what would be the best ignition module to run on a triple 42 running 500 HP’S with CMI exhaust?

Thanks for any help

What engines and ignition do you have??? Those are Thunderbolt IV modules that you posted specs on. Used only until about 1996-1997 on 500HP's and never on 525EFI's
The ignition modules you should most likely be running are the V8-HP's that came on early carbed 500HP's. You could also run the V6-14 modules which will give about 10* of advance on a V8.

Here's all the specs on TB IV modules

Griff,
Thanks for the info….

My engines: Trip 500 HP’S with CMI exhaust

My modules: two rear engines have the 525 (848823-2) and center different style has a 5F23A V8-HP

Modules: (848823-2) Have MHP 525 SC paper label, on the back metal side stamped in ink 11S ___20A.

I do not see the 848823-2 on your list but as I looked at the back I am thinking that the 20A is the amount of advance. I am not sure what the 11S is??? This module is the square type with metal back.

The center engine has the 5F23A V8-HP which is mounted on the metal triangle bracket, different style plug than the others.

That is a nice chart with the advance curves. Would you have that info for the 848823-2?

Your part numbers do not come back to anything when looking them up. I can't tell what you have, but I can tell what you are supposed to have.
You should be running V8-HP modules. That is what came stock on carbed 500HP's.
You should also be setting the timing based on total advance of 32-34*. Stock HP500's get set at 12* base with 20* of advance.
Base timing really does not matter that much. Just set it for the correct total advance.

The 525SC stock module a V8-22A. It is the first V8-22 module on the curve table

The pics are of TB V ignition modules.
There were some HP500 TB V modules for sale in the swap shop a few weeks ago.
