Default Engine hatch venting

any rule of thumb about how much vent area I need in my engine hatch to adequately provide air to my engine? right now there are two 2.5" X 17" vents, do I need to add some older Cig style vents to each side of the deck?

Grab your calculator and read pages 2 and 3 of this PDF.

Covers minimum requirements, probably in mind more for safety reasons than engine needs.
