Default labbed prop

hey guys and gals,

Just installed cmi headers on my 496 ho. in a 28.8 sunsation. Before installing headers I was running 4 blade
26 pitch prop at 5150 rpms. would I benefit any by going to a lab finished prop and if so what pitch would you guys recommend.

thanks,

wayne

I would try the prop you have first and see what rpm you get, the new exhaust may or may not change things enough to require a prop change.

You could probably go to a labbed 28.

I run a labbed 28 on my Convincor with the 496 HO, but I also have a 1.65 drive. I would run that prop and get your slip numbers first. I thought redline on the 496 was 5050-5100 rpm? My prop should be back from BBlades Monday. It was labbed prior, had Brett tweak it a little more.

Run it and see if you start hitting the rev limiter. If you do hit the limiter, talk to BBlades about either reworking your current prop or going to labbed 28.
