Stimleck, have you ever been around manufacturing? I have, and those things look expensive as hell to build!
Each size requires a unique casting/forging, then they must be finished machined. Secondly the R&D on something like that ain't cheap, nor are they high production items. In manufacturing you must amortize the production costs, R&D included, over the production run. And then on top of that, they're a very niche product. Niche products generally have a high markup anyway.
