Warm alternator when charging
I don't know if it is even an issue. But on my cruiser when I plug it into shore power and turn the internal battery charger on after a while I noticed that the alternators get warm. I understand that there is voltage running through them so I guess I could understand why they get warm. Just don't know if it's right.
I hope that makes sense.

i don't like it. on top of everything else, once batts are charged, sounds like the alts still will draw power. the less time charger is running, the less chance of electroplating the lake with your drives.

Never considered that.but I see how its possible now. I'll have to see if mine is the same way since my charger is on 24/7/6months. A large diode in the alt line would fix this. Ill check with my electrical geru at work for his take on this.

Don't alt have diodes in them?
