K plane mounting pins frozen

Upgrading to the 380 tabs. Removed my 280 tabs from the boat. The dam pins holding the upper to lower, and ram pins, are frozen in there. Tried heating them, soaking them, etc. Was gonna try pressing them out. Anyone have any tips? Wanted to avoid the press in fear of breaking anything, but dont see any other options at this point. :cartman:

I like to use one of these along with a good penetrant to vibrate sticky parts out . https://www.google.com/search?q=air+...85%3B500%3B174

Take a thin cut off wheel and cut the pin in between the hinges , this way you will only have one section of pin to get out at a time. You can get the stainless rod just about anywhere and drill the ends for a cotter pin and washer. .

Don't hammer it through! Cut it up with a thin cutoff wheel. I broke the outer corner of mine trying to hammer it through. And I wasn't hitting it that hard.

Don't heat the pin itself. Evenly heat the area it's going through while applying pressure to the pin. You will hear a *ting* when it becomes free and quickly but nicely press it the rest of the way out.

Gave them to a buddy who has a press at his work and a blast cabinet (they need to be stripped also). Im gonna let him do his thing. I told him if need be, cut the pins, I will replace them.
