SOLID HUBS......on Mercury props

With solid hubs there are 4 pieces of plastic or teflon. This idea is lame......I did see a solid hub with rubber (round) strips epoxied in place. Can anyone tell where to obtain a few.
I have tried, but they all come with the teflon strips

WW ....thanks...I'll give them a call. I thought I would get more response on this than what has happened

I have a couple of used ones in stock that are 3 5/8" long with the round strips. Merc makes a short and a long one depending on the prop suffix. They are for 400+ HP applications and run around $51 each new. The ones with the flat strips are for the HD propshaft on racing outboards and Bravo XR & XZ sterndrives.

I needed these as well. These parts are not listed anywhere! My merc dealer had to call merc racing and ask. They do sell them seperate and have a part # for them.
Have your merc dealer call and inquire.
BTW, they are expensive for what they are.

Tell your Merc dealer to look on page #593 of the 2002 Accessories Guide in the propeller section.

Wild Willy.....called Mark.....they do not have anything to do with solid hubs..other than welding them into Turbo brand props.
Thanks.........we tried.
ThunderChick is ont he mark......I can get them.........but each time they come......they have the teflon stips and not the rubber. I don't know which one would be more reliable

ThunderChick: the one I have now....measure 4 3/8" long for the XR shaft. I swap them out between the cleavers and the Bravo props. It's a real pain changing them and holding the 4 strips in place.........let alone in the water at times

rbtnt 08-20-2002 11:04 PM

I put RTV on my strips to hold them in place.

enticer 08-21-2002 10:11 PM

Well.....I didn't use RTV.but do have it. I used an epoxy and it left go after awhile
I'll give the RTV a try

wild willy 08-22-2002 07:39 AM

i have epoxyed my strips on 3 times in a year!! this is a piss-poor design by mercury!! surely someone can make a better one!! willy
