BUY a SAILBOAT.

Than the guys at the marina can bust your balls for your clanging halyards keeping them up all night.

Just went through this last weekend.. Hopped up 468ci with 4" through transom pipes. Silent choice was removed for reversion purposes.
I wanted option of loud or quiet, and wasn't sure about spending $$$ for another switchable type. I ended up buying a set of Gibsons, clamp on style. Figured I could remove them as needed. Best money spent this year.
They still sound throaty, not too quiet, and actually are pleasing to hear. They eliminate the loud crackling decibals, and let you actually talk to your passengers while under way. I see no need to remove them right now.
They also have transom mounted, which eliminate your tailpipe altogether. I opted for the clamp ons, for purposes already stated. One thing though, they do not mount onto angle tip tailpipes. They need to be square. I ended up having to cut my tips square for them to mount up. No regrets so far.

I hate to sound like a a-hole.and I am not trying to piss people off,but that Gibson set up may work great,,,,,but man.it looks like **** hanging off the transom of the boat.jus my 2cents....I mean its better than a ticket.jus saying

A legit concern for me as well, but the overall length of these mufflers is something like 9 inches, and my old tailpipes were just as long. They slide over the existing pipes 3 inches deep, so if you already had long tailpipes and added these to the end, I can see your point for sure. My tailpipes were cut back, so not nearly as long overall as it could have been. They also sit under a platform, so I dont even see them.

Are you talking about the turn downs or the mufflers? Sometimes you just gotta do what ya gotta do...
