Yep, a bud that runs on the St. Croix river with his31 Scarab (twin 500hp's) has them on his boat. Before you couldn't even talk due to being so loud at the dock or WOT. He put those exact same ones in (well he cut one off since his pipes are short) his tips and WOW! what a differance!!!! You can talk around the dock and is blistering loud at WOT also.
He said the did not notice any performance drop or anything. Only thing different was the volume level went way down :) No harassment from WP yet. There on my list to add to my boat now. |

Are you saying that it only cut the noise down at idle, but is still loud at WOT? Or that it knocked the sound level down both at idle and WOT?

New here, kind of....mainly lurk for research and the search function. I can definitely say that Graham at GGB took good care of me. He got my boat legal to the db meter in MN. Twin 454 mags. He is very good at what he does and I would not hesitate do business with him in the future. It may be worth a call to him.

Man! Thank God I don't have a boat newer the 40 years old or sound restrictions on the Bay.

Budman, It also knocked down the noise at WOT. I was super suprised that those little rings could bring down the noise level so much!

Tjay, Where do you boat at? I see your about a hour away from me

GGB made some inserts for me for my Teague tips (4" & 4.5" rings) that I've never used, but I'm sure I was told that they are most effective up top and that the idle is just a little quieter. I may punt the Borlas and put the Tips back on with the ggb's. I think that this would be a pretty effective setup.

The shotgun mufflers I am selling are perfect for what you are describing, they cut the bark at idle with next to no power loss or noise reduction at WOT. These mufflers would probably not pass an 86 db test, but would make your boat much more likely to not get stopped or tested.

Liquid, are those the Teague switchable tips? I am guessing not.
