Hello,
I know this is a long shot, but I was hoping someone could help us. We have a 1999 Baja 272 and I'm assuming we have the Mercury Silent Choice exhaust, but I'm not 100% positive. The port side exhaust won't engage, thus leaving our exhaust in "quiet" mode. We can hear it click, but the exhaust won't open. Is this system air driven or electrical? Ive read that it could be a bad battery causing them not to engage or possibley the linkage is just in a bind? Is there anything I can use to lube the linkage, and get it to moving freely again? Could I possibly open them by hand and just leave them open? Are there any other suggestions you could possibly give us? I really appreciate all the information you could give us.
Thanks again!

You have corsa exhaust. It's electric. Watch the 2 solenoids when someone flips the switch. May just be stuck and need freed up. More than likely they are spring return closed. You can open them by hand, but they will close back. Could wire them open. A little self testing and posting results will help

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I wasn't completely sure which ones we had. We're going to replace the old batteries with marine batteries and I'm going to re-trace all of the wiring. I will keep the post updated with all of the progress. Thanks again guys!

I love the Silent Choice Option. In my world- when activated it adds about 2-3 mph to WOT-- plus it sounds great
