Stamp # OL416062 . I would like to know what brand of crank , rods and pistons were used in this engine . Any pertinent information would be appreciated . I called Merc Racing and after 20 minutes of terminal hold gave up . Thanks

You mean they didn't try to sell you the 1350 ?
GM forged steel crank
4 bolt mains
JE forged aluminum pistons
GM piston rings
GM forged Steel connecting rods
Manley heavy duty one piece push rods
Hydraulic roller cam but forgot which brand, want to say crane and I do not know why Comp comes to mind as well. I am sure Bob will straighten it out here.
GM cast iron high performance heads with 3 angle valve seats
Crane roller lifters
Crane dual coil valve springs
Crane retainers and keepers
Dart single plane intake with brass insert water ports
Holley 800 CFM
2.25 in diameter stainless steel intake valves
1.88 in diameter Inconel exhaust valves
Belt driven Carter fuel pump
GM high volume oil pump
GM 8 qt stamped steel oil pan
55 amp alt
T- bolt V ignition with engine knock protection
Hopefully this helps and I have everything correct. I know this motor did / have broken valves springs a lot. We did enough of them in past years. Also the brass insert intake manifold with the dissimilar metals as the aluminum outside would corrode away over time and cause water leaks internally. Lost its intake manifold seal,

Thank you BUP . Apparently they all didn't come with brass inserts in the intake . Neither mine nor my buds 2000 came with them . Soooo when it is disassembled I can expect to find GM Dimple rods . I foresee some HP500 hard parts going to swap shop and leaves me a crank away from a bbbbbbbblown 540 and a lighter wallet . Decisions decisions . Nothing is ever what you think it will be . I need to talk to Bob again .

The run of the these were from 1994 to the end of 1999. Yes 2000 hulls could have that 1999 engine installed from the factory. I even have a HP 500 intake manifold at my house as it was the last HP 500 I worked on. You should see it - the brass is great but the alum is all corroded away around the water ports. I believe it was an OL serial # engine as well. I can go back on my records to see to make sure. I could swear that motor ended in late 1999 from Merc racing as the 500 EFI started in 1999 as well.

yea around late 01 and 2002 efi had diff rods, I would ck see how much u can get the cheap import rods, like eagle, it was cheaper when I did mine to buy new rods by the time you do the work to the old rods,I wouldn't change crank unless ya just wanted to spend the money, the stock gm crank will handle a good bit of power. my scarab at 760hp ran years on stock gen 4 , My hustler has alot of hours on stock gm gen 6 crank 840-880hp up to 5800-6000.
but like anything ya abuse it detonate or shety machine work

Never a bad idea to get the crank cut for an extra keyway, esp if you're gonna use a cog blower belt. How much power you hoping to make with the new build buddy?
