Are the specs the same between Airtex and Merc? I just replaced my pumps with Merc pumps earlier this season. The Airtex pumps say that they have been fitted with components compatible with multi-rich fuels. Just wondering if my new Merc pumps will survive with all the ethanol we're getting now.

Don't see an issue with the fuels, Merc doesn't make the fuel pump, Airtex makes it for them from what I have been able to determine. You use to see Airtex embossed on the side of the Merc pump years ago

Merc doesn't make a whole lot of things, like starters, fuel injectors, carbs, distributers, etc

I understand that Merc doesn't make the pump. What I'm asking about are the specs.

Like already said CV Products has "THE" pump, if you dont mind paying for it. I wouldnt trade mine for anything, work flawless, rebuildable, and awesome looking all billet construction.

I had the CV on my 557, flawless. Think it was model 2640 (?) And as MER mentions, they are rebuildable when/if that time comes.

You can replace the lower half, but the diaphragm and springs stay with the top half. The shaft that holds the diaphragm plate and springs in there looks to be riveted in place.
