What's the size of the oil cooler you have on now? I'll check it against what's on my former 500s

Ive seen plenty of electric oil pressure gauges read far off from whats really going on. For example last year, my port oil pressure gauge was showing down around 25psi at idle in gear after a hard run, while the starboard showed like 40. I put a mechanical on the port engine, was actually about 45psi hot idle in gear. My chevy oil pumps have been shimmed. I see about 75-80psi warmed up and running at 4000RPM. Cold, getting on plane, gauges are nearly 100psi. On the dyno my engines had 100psi with no coolers, lines, remote filter, etc. Just had the filter on the block like a car would.

Also, I have all 1/2NPT fittings and #12 lines to and from my coolers/filter.

On my dyno runs both motors were low seventies but just like you describe, oil filters on block adapters. The low op started as soon as I installed the motors in the boat with coolers, lines, adapters. Also, my cold start idles pressures are high 60s and temps are 200ish with an infrared gun at the filter. I'm going to get my new gauges installed with new senders, install my temp gauges, change all my lines to -10 or -12 pushloc with high flow fittings and see what I have after that. If it's still not where it needs to be I guess it'll be new coolers, filter housings, block adapters. My pumps are high volume but standard pressure.

Is my pressure low because of the restriction alone or is the restriction causing my pump to bypass within it's regulator, (spring)? They're Gen IV blocks.

If you take a close look at the fittings on the filter adapter, block adapter, cooler you will see how bad they are flow wise, just doing some is like pissing in the wind..
