The crossover also makes side exhaust sound MUCH better.

Dont doubt you at all...you may have something else in your favor...height over SWL or the vacuum will pull enough thru the Corsa and not bring water up from the Volvo Y. The crossover was added to prevent the vacuum that could occur on shutdown in a particular scenario...frequently enough in other apps where it was added across the board....

Yes, side exit does sound like crap compared to transom exit. Never heard one with a balance tube. Would be curious to hear the difference.
