Default Blower on 24 baja outlaw

I am considering re-powering this winter and was considering putting a supercharger on my 1994 24 outlaw. Does anyone have any experience with this? There does not appear to be enough room between the seat and the pulleys and I do not want to start chopping on my back seat. Current engine is 454mag. Was wondering if it would be worth it. Thanks, Andy

Once you put a blower on boat you will never want to go back. If the rear seat is in way, take it out. Remember There is NO such thing as TOO Much Horsepower.

Yes, you do have to cut the seat a little bit. I put a Whipple on mine last summer and it is AWESOME. It was worth all the hard work and mods. You cannot tell I have the blower unless you open the seat to access the storage area. If you want send me a roll of film and I will snap some pics for you and try to give you an idea of where to cut seat. I did have to send lower cushion to trim shop and also did a slick job of boxing out the cutout with aluminum. It now allows full access to the front of the motor for maintenance work that was not possible before. You can email me at [email protected] if you have more questions. I picked up a solid 13 mph and I think there is 2 mph left but I have been to busy to play with it, instead I would rather be using it!!!

Dont supercharger manufacturers make balancers that doubles as a cerpantine belt pully?

I thought I read that somewhere???

If it's true, that might be the way to go.

The centrifugals will take up the least room in front of your engine. If space is a real problem you could add nitrous. It isn't a blower but it will add about the same performance, just in bursts. You also have to refill the bottle. The manufacturer of my cat has NOS on his personal cat. 88mph on the engine, 101+ on the nitrous.

2 friends of mine both have outlaws.

One has a 14-71 blower shop blower which the back seat had to be majorly modified.

The other has a procharger setup in which the back seat had a minor mod....It looks like he used a router and put a radius in the wood backing of the seat (where the wood stepped for support). This provided clearance for the pully.

Maybe a short snout 177 blower would work? Maybe try calling the factory and ask them if that boat ever came with a stock 525SC setup, and what they had to do to make it fit.

Bayou Outlaw,

A friend of mine has a B&M 174 that was (tightly) fit without any modification to his 1996 Outlaw's rear seat. His set-up was on a 454 Mag.

He just pulled the engine out for a rebuild and is now selling the complete blower and carb set up. If you're interested please send me a PM and I'll hook you up with him.

If you go with a 250 from The Blower Shop you should be able to fit it with very little modification to the bacl of your seat. They use a gilmer belt that will be about 2.5" out further than your current crank pulley. Call Marv at (661) 299-5483, or www.theblowershop.com
