Rbesola -

Let me be frank here. Sorry Frank !

Will you please answer my question on oil psi I asked earlier. We need to clear this up to see if you even have a psi problem.

Plus, I'd really like to take off my helmet and leave the corner so I can go home.

Thank you.

Not that I ever do but just for the sake of figuring out the issue. Also I just have some cheap push in breathers and thinking maybe a baffled valve cover or a little more length might solve some of that.

Okay...so....at the end of the 2 minutes at 6,000 rpm you are still at 75 psi ?

And right after this run you are at 50 psi idling ?

Your worry is a drop to 25lbs right when you pull the throttle back abruptly ?

Do I win a booby prize for insisting on this when/where/why/how oil question ? LOL.

I'm now not seeing an oil psi problem.

On to the other part:

You have non baffled valve covers and possibly a non baffled breather ?

Also, what exactly are you motors?

Oil temp. Motors are mostly hp500s with the exception of 7.6cr je pistons, Manley h-beam rods crane cams and some arp hardware with mega blowers on top. Balanced rotating assy. Stock windage tray. No screens. Basically just back to what it was aside from what I listed.

You definately have an issue or issue. With a high volume pump your oil pressure should never be 50 at idle. Something is wrong. What kind of oil filter are you using?

Helmet on and back in the corner.

F*k !

I took the idle comment not literally...as in a maybe low to mid 1000rpm in gear. Not a sub 1k idle/idle.

You thinking psi reg spring/disc hanging up ? Nah, cause this wouldn't increase psi at low rpm.

Bigger helmet this time.

Black Baja 11-11-2014 08:05 PM

Hey helmet boy with a HV pump at idle not 1000 rpm. That's way off idle it should have 70 psi + I think mine is 80@ 500 rpm 90 WOT after 30 miles of 6000 rpm and back to idle still have 80. There is something wrong. Might be something stupid like a Fram (non HP) filter...

Possible but I don't see it getting whipped at idle unless he thought he would make his own 14qt pan out of his 8 qt pan by adding 6 more qts of oil.
