Default Upgrades to Cabin Door and Hatches.

Ok, so some of the older Cigs have cabin doors that you lift up and then open. Newer ones have sliding doors. I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade the old style for the sliding. And also if there is a way to upgrade the front 2 vent hatches to be flush with the outside of the body. Any input would be great, thanks...

No pics yet, just getting ideas before making a purchase of something older. To give it an updated look. I was hoping someone had done it and I could learn from their experience. I am very handy, and pretty good at glass work. Next I have to look at parts availability.

Flush hatches are readily available; probably $400-500 apiece from Bomar the manufacturer. A sliding door is probably beyond most fiberglass amateurs if you want it to look OEM. Contact the boat manufacturer to see if they even offered one as Cigarette does, and check to see if you have the room for the receptacle section that the door would retract into in the existing cockpit/cabin configuration. Probably better to find the options that you want on a factory boat. Sliding doors have been around for a while.
