i know of one member who has spring oilers,i would have them if they would fit but my headers won,t allow .cooling the springs would extend the life of the spring.the higher lift cams we use today makes the springs get really hot and heat is the springs enemy.

I run 7/16 dual taper. Thinking about 1/2 triple taper.

Billet marine has valve covers with oilers made into them. Call for pricing. Sounds serious...

I always have run the spring oilers never had a valve spring break. BLP can install spring oilers in aluminum valve covers. They just did my big chief valve covers they look good.

Ok, now that we've covered spring oiling, does anyone have a chart that specifies General pushrod dimensions as they relate to spring pressure and lift?

Maybe that's oversimplifying it? I was thinking there might be "standards" like: you need X amount of pushrod for X amount of spring/lift.

What's the downside to overkill push rod, increased mass?

Surely someone has watered that down into a chart. Spring force over the nose vs. rod length vs. max RPM.

Depending on your head, if you go to the 7/16 dia PR you may have to do some milling on the heads to to get them to fit...even with the custom tapered PR's.
