What kind of speeds were you seeing in yours, cruise and wot? This one has 21p mirage 3 blades on it now which lead me to think the drives must be 1.36:1. I don't need a speed demon but I'll be running with 2 353's, and 1 312. The 353's have 496 ho mags and 502 mpi's. I'm thinking I should be able to hang with them.

The HP465 was a 502, GM Rect ports, Crane 240/250*, 559/578 Lift, 110LSA. It used a dual plane GM aluminum intake, and a Holley 800DP.
Basically, its an HP500, but with a flat tappet, and dual plane intake. The HP500 made similar power, except used a roller quite a bit less aggressive, and a single plane dart intake. |
great motor, nothing to be worried about. it's a true "blue" merc motor. 5 hp less than the 500 hp that came out in 95

Thanks for everyone's help! We just got back from looking at the boat and if it all works out she will be ours!

Thanks fixx. Everything appeared to be rock solid so far. The next time i go ill double check those areas. The storage under the step is as immaculate as the rest of it.

It had the same compression ratio of the HP 500 of 8.75:1 -along with the GM Forged steel Rods, JE forged pistons and the GM forged steel crank. Yep the cam was a Crane Hydraulic NON roller. It used a GM Aluminum Dual Plane intake manifold.
