Go here to get info from group of people from all over the world who do own a Verado. They can run at least a couple thousand hrs if run and maintained correctly. Govt. runs them to 2500hrs then goes to auction, sold and run for several more hrs. They can be broken just like any other brand outboard if used and abused.

Warning make sure you use search before asking questions. Search library too and read general rules of the board. Owner of site is quick to let you know this. It is a pay site but worth the money to be a able to talk to Merc tech to discuss a problem. Lots of free info. Remember it might sound like a lot of people with problems but there are thousands out there that are not heard from that are running great.
