Default Putting in a hp500 with harness

Wondering about putting in a hp500 with a wiring harness that is from a bravo boat? I currently have III's and have 2 wires from my wiring harness going down to a sensor on my transmissions, I am guessing from a neutral position sensor, how will I hook up the new harness? Will I not need to hook up that sensor?

what you mean with harness? to the canon plug or to the dash? if you have wires going thru canon plug to trans, plug on replacement engine may be different than boat's wiring. best bet might be to strip wiring off old engine and attach to the new one.
