600sci cam good for a 502 carbureted

Hi guys
What are the cam spec on a 600sci ? I have a couple laying around and would it be good for a carbureted engine , we want to produce around 600 hp.
We have Brodex heads 121cc and 320, 502 with a 60 over piston with a .125 dome ,strip dominator intake and a 850 Holley.
Any help will be appreciated .
Joe

Ya I think they used them in the 575 as well and a few others. Decent blower cam however not what your looking for. What do you plan on ending up with for compression? Also ported or stock?

forced induction wants a very different cam profile than NA. much tamer. if you have any kind of overlap, you are just blowing it out the exh valves before they close...

Than NA street or race car. Obviously don't want any 104-108LSA's on a SC, but you won't be using that on a marine I/O wet exhaust nor without a crash box.

Your statement has a tiny bit of truth too it, but by how it reads not much.

no way,,only difference and its small would be the overlap and even that can be close to the same.case in point,hp500efi cam is the same as the 700sci

Kinda like the 525 sc is 454 420 hp cam if I'm not mistaking. I get what dnk is saying though.

So since Im using a hp500efi cam on my na build, I could eventually slap on a blower and be rockin!!!!

The 575 was a flat tappet cam that would make about 400 hp in na form, not mercs best work

I think he was referencing optimal or ideal. Using Mercs stock cam choice as a reference doesn't mean it's right. They have a history of using what is already in their possession, and utilizing certain cams to keep HP down in order to place the engine in a market segment. The 700 sci can easily become a 800+ hp reliable monster with cam and boost changes.
