My friend jyst got this really nice engine in 26ft celebrity Andretti... and it needs a tuneup. I'm thinking idle should be around 1000 ish and timing about 10btdc. ????

Depending on the drive you will never get it out of gear if it idles at 1k

can you give more info on the engine,like what ignition system,type of outdrive etc?

That must be a one hell of a cam in that thing. 585 HP out of 496 cu in. Is this a Carb or Fuel inj motor.

If Tbolt IV Set total timing to 32-34. You choose - it's your motor. Initial will be what it is after setting total.

Idle 800rpm if possible.

Many different modules out there...so.....

Total timing is where it stops advancing......

Example: was tuning a set of 525sc's. Was told those modules stopped at 3200rpm. Well, they didn't. They stopped at 4200 rpm. Imagine if I set total different than I do rpm wise ? Again, I go to where it stops advancing and then I bring it to a good 300-400rpm more to make sure it isn't advancing. This is no place to assume nor get fooled.

What does she have to do with it ?
