Okay so just got back from testing my oil pressure. I tested it at the port for the engine pressure sensor. I got just under 40 at idle when warm, 60ish at cruise, and 70 at WOT. Or just under 70. This was on a 0-400 gauge so it's potentially a bit off.

Any thoughts on this? The strange thing is, if I check the oil after sitting over night it reads a bit high. Then if I check the level after it's been out for a run, even after 10 mins it reads at the bottom of the stick. Does this indicate oil isn't draining properly?

I'm just so nervous overall now with this engine.

Lastly, my stupid power steering pump is leaking. Can I just buy a GM pickup pump and reservoir? I'm going to do research now on it.

Run it. 70 psi isn't going to hurt anything.

Just curious, why the heck is it so high? It was last year too... But it's just odd.

And I'm Gona take the power steering pump off tomorrow and see what Advanced auto has. Should I just buy the stupid volvo one so I know I have the right pressure relief valve?

Lol well I can't go boating yet. The stupid timing cover is leaking again. I wish I never took it off now. And the power steering pump is pissing fluid. I think the resivour is shot. I'm buying a reman from advanced tonight and I'll try to swap the pressure relief valve and fittings. Other than that it probably is the exact same pump. I doubt volvo changed anything. If it works I'll post part #'s

Bought a power steering pump. I still don't know where mine is leaking. It seems like it's the pump body leaking near the studs and pressure relief valve. Either way, I was planning on swapping the pressure relief valve into the new pump. The only difference is the way the return is hooked up. Sort of ghetto looking in the boat... But $60 beats $450. Any last min cautions against doing this?

It's a Cardone reman unit from Advanced. I asked for a ps pump for a 1993 Chevy 2500 5.7.

Thought i would update this thread a bit there was a large amount of injector talk and replacement. In regards to the Standard Motor's injector TJ-17 which is rated 50lbs at 12 psi it works quite well in a mefi 3 system and on a 4.3 rated at 205hp. I am sure the mefi programming will scale up the injector pulse as you go up in displacement to the 5.0...5.7. I dont have a afr setup so i cannot tell you how balanced the fuel dist is but later on i will post pic's of the plug's and Champion... plugs at that. The engine was ran hard and on a hot day at all rpm levels for a extended period of time, no bogging no popping just good clean power and the plug's will tell the rest of the story.

u already said your motor ran fine so spark plugs are not going to have anything to do with AFR unless they are poorly firing or not at all. Just saying

I had to mess with about the Champions. You know how it is.
