Yep. I saw that a few weeks back, i could have swore they were supposed to be the 5045s I remember kris bought a bunch of sets from bob, and could have swore he ordered the 5045s for his and dans engines when he was putting them together. Either way, his lifters look identical to my 4603s when we had them side by side

Yeah I based my oil viscosity and spring pressures on being told I have the HI Rev. Never trust anyone, verify everything!!!! ..another lesson learned.
Either way never any noise even with my higher than rated for spring pressures.

Off topic, but , fwiw, switching from a .750 to a .700 wheel diameter, or an .810 wheel, has an effect on the camshaft timing. Not huge, but it does.

Morel recommends .025 preload, or half a turn on mine (which are donzimatts old ones). Mine are lashed now but on engine stands, so I could do a full turn.

To me it sounded like a couple of them were noisy last season for 5 minutes or so and then quiet right down, but not all 32 haha.

I've always done a half turn on engines with never an issue, now I'm second guessing...

at 1/2 a turn they will make more noise but should not cause any problems.i turn them one turn and they still are noisy until they warm up.

One nice thing about the Johnsons is axle oiling if you buy the good ones, I am sure that's gonna help bearing issues, at least I hope so, I think that's only available in solid Morels, not sure aboiut other brands.

Ours with 1/2 turn never quieted down even at warm. It took full turn to get them quiet at temp.

Also, icdedppl has ran straight 50 weight with them , as well as 15w50, and 20w50, no collapsed lifters or weird stuff.

Him and i have a decent amount of time on them since 2012, turning around 6k rpm on many occasions in each of our engines , so i cant believe its just "luck". Generally i think they are a good lifter.

OK, I must have misunderstood. I thought you had one collapse on the dyno.

If their rattling all the time, are you really getting full valve lift ?? ( opening )

That doesn't make sense (I'm not questioning your experience just thinking out loud). If at one turn (.050 preload) they were quiet, why wouldn't the oil pressure fill the void and take up the slack of another .025 inch (half turn)?
I believe there is close to .150 inch of travel, so at one turn there is still .1 inch of slack, half turn .125 inch.

Maybe I will turn mine up to 1 full turn.
