I stated that already in the first post. I know the issues with the pump and flow rates, but why can't 3/8" lines supply enough fuel when hooked to a carb equipped to the "proper" fuel pump. I know it will supply enough gas in 5 gallon cans. The carb or throttle body is the end regulated restriction. The lines will flow fine till there.

Yikes, seaching some fuel pump performance graphs, don' t run this holley over 5psi ! Cause just over 6psi, it turns into crap.
Who would know unless you find this info.

makes me think you're seeing the internal relief valve open.

rookie,3/8 will support 500 hp but id be leary above that,if starting fresh it only cost a little more to run -8 line.the flow rate from -6 to -8 is quite a bit.

I only use Holley electrics for liquid transfer pumps.

mike tkach I have a pair of these on there way via mail for my EFI blower build. Can you have over kill when it comes to fuel pump? I'm going to be returning more to the tank than into the engine. lol

Mike, you are supporting a LOT more power than I am, so running that #10 line all the way to the carb dist block is probably necessary for you, but would it be for an engine making less than 600 HP? Sounds like 1/2 (-8AN) should be enough to support that power level. Thanks for the info on the Fragola hose.

-8 would be good for your application imo.

I took a crowfoot wrench to the fuel pickup this afternoon, and that sucker did not want to budge. I would have the kind of luck that would have the damned thing breaking off, so I stopped for now to regroup. I noticed that there is another bung for a fuel return next to it that is capped off. i was able to pull that plug without incident. Would it be an option to simply insert my new larger pickup in this hole and plug off the old pickup? The new one would be a little bit further forward in the tank, but I don't see that as a problem unless the fuel level gets extremely low.

Does anyone think this might be a problem to do it this way?
