Umm.... didn't see any fiber washers or springs. It was just a long bolt, with a alum bushing and a normal washer.

I wanted to remove the hose..... But that was even more of a pain in the a$$ to get to the hose clamp holding it on!!

edit: couldn't get the right link up.

Go here, click on which set up you have, go to 'Bellhousing' and you'll see required parts.

You need to lift the motor to get to the washers and springs. I always glue them in place so I don't loose them I think the washer fairy takes them.

SB and BB thank you. Didn't even know those were under there! I would have drop and lost them guaranteed. Or thsy would have fallen out i would have scratching my head as to where they went.

They go to the same place that those missing socks go after you put them in the washing machine. I'm convinced that is what the rings of Saturn are made up of. That along with the missing bolts that I dropped in my bilge.

Try 400-500 worth of flaslights a year.

Not too mention a grande or so of other tools - especially 14mm, 12mm, and 10mm everything. A year.

Screwdrivers - hah ! Probably 30-40 of those a year too.

Pixie Dust - it's for real folks !

Am I the only one that has dropped an entire tool box worth of tools into the most inaccessible spot in the bilge? I bought a strong magnet on a long snake line and cut out about half of my grief.

Depending on your serial # for the transom assemble - just to tell you guys Mercruiser did away with springs for the rear motor mounts about 10 years ago for OEM stock transom assemblies. The newer assemblies do not use springs anymore - older one do.

Almost right on the money by saying 10 years ago it was 12 years and the proof for any disbelievers. Funny how many calls I get about these springs.

example - I can not find my rear mounting springs when I pulled the motor or they were missing and I installed new ones - wrong do not install them if your app is 12 years old to new.

The famous Mercruiser SB's and a good memory on my part for all these SB's

Well I'm guessing it is well over 12 years old. The story I got is that it went back to Baja in 1994 to swap out the 454 carb mag for the 502 EFI, along with graphics, and a few other things. so I'm guessing the assy is 1990 or 1994,

Good Info tho BUP!!
