Hi guys, I desperately try to add a video showing the water flow, but I am not successful. Cant post here or at youtube for some reason.

Anyway, I disconnected the water intake hose from the thermostat housing, and started the engine. The flow was not impressive, it just poured from the hose, it wasnt really flowing.

So I removed the raw water pump which looked fairly new, and the impeller blades looked good and all. Then I backflushed the hose from the thermostat housing to the raw water pump, but no debris came out, and the flow looked ok to me.

However, I was ready with a plug for the raw water intake house, since my impression was that the raw water would flow automatically from the hose once disconnected from the raw water pump. But no water, just a trickle that emptied the hose itself.

So do I have a problem with the raw water intake from the transom?

I just wished I could show you the videos....

Regards, Johan

Start by replacing your raw water pump impeller . Not the circulating pump and Back flush all hoses.

maybe,,need to put water to the drive and see how the flow is.should come out the raw water input hose fairly unrestricted.if restricted, the hose at outer transom has corrosion around it crushing the hose in the housing.

Thanks guys. I looked at it through the holes in the back and it looked ok. Now when I tore it apart it was way worse, with scratches and all. I am not sure it is bad enough to be the cause, but it sure will be better with a new one. Very appreciated advice!

Johan
