I have hillbillyed many motors. Heck I picked up the back end of the boat off the trailor with the tree in my front yard.

never replace a worn ring gear,just to expensive at 18 bucks.just flip it over!WTF.same bad advice as always.

What's is wrong with flipping a ring gear over? I've done it more times than I can count. With no issues. So could you please explain. Most of the time you end up with the teeth missing in one spot. Why? Because when you shut the motor off this is where it stops and has to restart in the same spot over and over again.

when the teeth get chewed up the strength of what is left is weak.it would be foolish to remove a worn ring gear and turn it over when a new one is less than 20 bucks.how do you justify to the boat owner when after 50 or so starts the ring gear broke because you reused a worn out one and now it failed.i find it hard to believe that a guy would pay 4000. for an oil pan and reuse a junk ring gear.i just don,t understand your logic.some of the things you suggest people do are just plain wrong imo.i am not being a smart azz but i just don,t understand your way of thinking!
