Yeah , after posting and the sea strainer was brought up using post pump , it was really a no brainer, id rather protect the engine than the impeller. My boating is pretty much confined to a river so debris is not a real problem, except during runoff and I don't generally even launch untill it cleans up.

Interesting idea putting a sea strainer after the sea water pump. I have a Gil strainer I keep putting off installing, may look into it again and place it after the pump.
