I can't get over how old that cam looked. I've seen pictures of cams after running for over 200 hrs look better then that cam, no way water did that in a few weeks. I don't know a lot about motors, but I do know Dale and he wouldn't of drove 20hrs round trip with 2 motors and cash to drop in his boat then make up some lie about the condition the were in. He is a honest guy that got took advantage off. I don't get how you can sell someone something that your not 100% sure about.

At least you were trying to make a good motor and only phucking yourself if you didn't. Hope it holds together and you find your missing power someday.

Why anyone would buy anything from this WELL KNOWN SCAMMER is beyond me.
Sucks for the buyer. Who vouched for the seller? |

the motors in question came out of a yr 2000 41 avanti, not sure where this 1994 garbage comes from, not to mention the motors were factory sealed. never once did i say the motors had a complete rebuild. i told dale exactly what was done to the motors. the motors had complete head jobs with new valve springs from chris at cnc machine. all new rings and a fresh hone on the cylinders .
I'm not expert but it doesn't add up. They were factory sealed and not rebuilt. But new head job and rings with honed cylinders. The moment you take an intake, head, or oil pan off the factory sealed idea goes out the window along with whatever gaskets the factory used from 94. I'm just a blue collar young man and I see this guy is pulling ideas from anywhere to try and sound like he didn't lie |
A recently ran in freshwater motor that milkshaked is not going to have rust like that inside of it . The motor has all the signs of a motor that sat for a very long time without any oil on it in like years ,in a damp area..
I have a 10 year old factory sealed Mercury package with 5 hours from the factory that I let sit in my garage without pickling it . it looks just like this motor inside.. I am the last one who ran it and simply pulled it for another project that got put on the back burner. Opened it up last year it looks identical to this motor. |
Sure are set on fuel washing down cylinders.... Funny Phil's did the same thing huh? Hmmmm

read my post again slowly so you can understand. the motors where factory sealed 2000 merc 500 hps' before i opened them up to inspect and freshen. if i didn't put bearings in it how are they 1994? they didn't even make a 500hp in 1994. i don't think merc had 6 yr old stock in bearings. the bearings are the same ones that came in the motors in 2000. when i pulled them they were perfect. no one person on here is saying how long that motor sat before it was taken apart, if it had water in it or was gas washed with no oil, it dosent take but a day to rust. once again i told dale to send me the motor but he didn't want to drive to nj so i told him to ship it and he didnt' want to spend the 250 bucks. i offered more than once so you can all stop with the bs witch hunt. btw, i never said dale was a bad guy, just didn't want to send the motor back because of a few dollars. find me another engine builder that will tell you it's ok to tear thier motor apart and send them the bill. to many know it alls on here, everyone has something to say. put your friendship with dale aside and think about it.
The first paragraph was copied and pasted from your post. No where in there did you say they were factory sealed before I did such and such work. I took what you wrote and interpreted it. I have no horse in this race, I don't know any of the gentlemen involved. All I was stating from my experience your post and statement sounded off. |
