Garbage. Pure garbage.

So this is a Gen V block if the bearings were dated 1994? I would STOP right where you are, and before doing anything further, get those blocks sonic tested. They are clearly saltwater garbage, and last thing you wanna do is rebuild engines with thin rusted out cylinder walls. The Gen V blocks were thin as they were, and throw in some saltwater, 20 years, and you have rotted iron. And MAKE SURE, you get those heads magged and pressure tested too.

Sounds like his definition of rebuild is new bearings.

No receipts supplied for parts or shop costs = no rebuild.

UD

Bearings are not even new, they have a manufacture date on the back of them of 6 94

Yes, had 75lbs of pressure right up to the time the rpms started dropping, then the oil pressure started dropping.

I suspect rusty engines that sat and have wrong bypasses that allowed unfiltered oil to get sent into beatings and destroy them, there were not new builds so they must have ran fine at one point like 10 years ago in a salt water boat, that's what I think happened with what I see...

Any pics of good bearings??

ezstriper 07-22-2015 07:25 AM

if bearings dated 94 that pretty much tells a lot, the coloring on the cam kinda looked like the core color but if is rust ??? but if oil got diluted with fuel will make them look old and kill them so quick will make your head spin...

Gen 5 502s .with the orig rod bearings
I can hear them screaming all the way from over here
"Wait till you pull my freeze plugs out!!!""
