Default 4500 vs 4150 on a 540

I'm having my 540s gone through and they will be run on the dyno when done. I'm going to use the Victor Jr and Pro Systems 4150 carbs I already have. Like a lot of people, I've always wondered about using a Dominator with this intake or with a Victor. If anyone has a Dominator and adapter or Dominator flange Victor they want to loan, I will test both of them and of course post the results. Combo will be 548 ci, AFR 315 cnc head, 9.5:1 cam has yet to be picked but will be a hyd roller most likely from Bob M.

I might have an adapter you can borrow. I also have a Quickfuel 1050 dominator you can borrow if you'd like.

Well the Quick Fuel 4500 is spoken pretty highly of so I guess that'd be the one to try unless there's a newer Holley floating around that people also seem to like. Now, the Victor Jr. with an adapter or is there one around with a 4500 flange someone has?

650hp and up, 1050 Dom. That's my general IMHO rule.

Well, that's what I would like to find out- how much of a difference there is. They were 660hp before with the 4150s, so they should definitely be in dominator territory. Now if you believe the sales pitch from Pro Systems... I'm only slightly more than the original hp the carbs were specd for so they should show well

Remember, dyno's don't run across the water. Be careful with your results.

I can almost guarantee I'm sticking with the Vic Jr 4150 because I already own them. Just hoping to make the most of the day. There'd have to be a pretty big difference for me to change.

I guess the nice thing is that I don't have any hp goal or promises. Whatever they
are is what they are.
