Put 50wt in it or pull it apart and tighten up the clearances.

This is exactly why I am including Marshal S/S mechanical gauges for everything mounted directly on the motor for my build in process.
Hope this is all it is.

Clearances may be tighter. Like I said, the numbers are at home.

Why the 79 PSI on the dyno with the Oberg? Same oil and everything.

The Oberg setup isn't much of a filter and causes little to no restriction. My guess is your a nice guy. So when you dropped your crank off to get polished they put a new belt on the polisher and polished just enough clearance into the journals that now you have a little to much leakage and low oil pressure. See if you were an azzhole like me they take the belt out of the trash can and put it back on the polisher...

The other thing is on the dyno you have very little run time compared to running in the boat...

tighten clearances up that are already .0025 and .0022? that already makes me nervous..I am a fan of looser in marine engines but that's me...

I can get full pressure on the stand while priming with mine, I would be lookin g at bleedoff or a pump not pushing enough PSI. but if it mad more on the dyno then run a mech gauge in the boat and see what it really is, how did you check when priming?

I even asked about this when I saw the numbers... I was concerned about the pressure, but when I saw it running with just about 80, I wasn't worried. My friend running the dyno said not to be concerned; it was making exactly what it was supposed to making.

If clearances are an issue, then I'll run the heavier oil. Interestingly, the pressure really doesn't change. Even with heat. I ran it for about 30 minutes in the 3K rpm range and never saw much of a pressure drop. Maybe 5 psi if that. Revving it a little bumps it right up on 50 PSI. I've heard of filters collapsing and causing a drop of 20 PSI or so. I haven't gone into the filter yet (tomorrow), but the newer Delco filters have reported similar issues (they're made rather cheap).

I'll know more tomorrow after playing with it some,

Wouldn't the Oberg cause the reverse then if it had no restriction? Wouldn't that allow oil to pretty much free-flow further reducing pressure? The engine was showing near double the oil pressure with the Oberg. I would think that the bearing clearance would really allow oil to leak with that kind of pressure. Thoughts?
