modified 502mpi intake on 502 dyno session at my shop
#31
Reason I'm asking is I'm doing a set of 509" MPI's and it's a budget build...Not sure how much we'll be able to put into it.

Still dynoing, going to test the 56mm throttle body that picked up 12 hp on 540 previously, the 58 mm on it now picked up 9 hp on the 540 na over the 56 mm. Also going to test stock one after that and add stock flame arrestor, wont be surprised if it takes it down to 480hp w both stock pieces

Think you may have one of my modded throttle bodys. One thing about the mag flame arrestor , they do a suprising job of reducing intake noise. The k&n 9" remote kit will replicate or beat the intake noise reduction ,while still supporting 600 horse or so. The max effort 502mpi blower builds used to run 2 in the bildge.
and they are pretty cheap

I have a slightly bigger cam in my 502 Mag, run 36 degrees of timing with everything else stock(it only had upgraded valvetrain and exhaust). I see the same speeds of boats that have 500 EFI's in them, now I am wondering what my stock flame arrestor and intake is doing to me. Excited to see the results, these black motors are not to bad afterall!
I also have a MEFI 1 with widebands that I tuned on water, I could send you my files if you wanted to look at them.
