Off the shelf cam options for marine engines

Just built a 446 for my coronet. We called dave crower and ordered a custom cam and their EDM lifters.
Solid flat tappet.
It has 30wt. Brad penn in it right now for break in. We started it and broke it in on the outer springs.
It's too damn salty on the roads to drive it now, so only 1/2 hour "break in" so far.
I'm still nervous about the cam going flat, but we did everything we could to mitigate it.

Would love to see some pics of the car!

The Crower falt tappets with the oiling hole seem to be the only tappets worth anything. I wont run a flat tappet anymore with the all the tappet horror stories I've heard and seen myself.
I've been running these and so far so good after 40 hours last season; http://johncalliesinc.com/product.php?ProductNo=5045

Hard to say on the Chinese metal, I could do without it. I just bought a custom solid flat from Bullet for an LS6 454, hoping to get it on the dyno in the next week or so.

I have close to 20 years now on my hydraulic flat tappet 505". Still runs great! Running an Ultradyne 239/247, 296/304, 110LS, .575/.600. Comp Cams lifters. Run Valvoline 20-50 Racing which has plenty of zinc.

It is nerve racking to start a fresh engine. I rigged a mech. Oil pressure gauge and had the timing right on.
