Default Higher octane fuel in our future?

As vehicle engines are downsized to meet fuel economy targets, researchers at MIT are suggesting that higher compression ratios and an increase in octane from RON 91 to RON 98 are part of the answer. For those of us who would like to buy better fuel for our boats, climate change policy may have a silver lining.
