Congrats. I'd imagine they sound a little more snappy. I think we might be heading to the dyno next week.

In the meantime, been working on a 598" refresh and go. Found all kinds of unexpected issues from the original builder but I've addressed them all. There were only 100 or so hours on it. It's a shame... I expect it will make 850 hp when all said and done. Not EQ heads but Big Brodie O 351's.

Just a quick clarification on some info in this thread. All of the EngineQuest EQ Cast Iron heads are produced and machined in our foundry in Auckland, New Zealand. The aluminum versions of the 320/360 runner BBC heads are produced through RHS/COMPCAMS. I cannot confirm the foundry location however they are pouring some aluminum in Asia.
Thanks for giving us a shot. We appreciate all of the feedback. Good luck with your projects and Happy Boating.

I used a 1412 Felpro, because of the round port stellings headers. I did have to remove a little material from the top corners of the gasket. I used a dremel with a sanding wheel, to open the corners up a bit.

Good questions and info ^^^^

Have any of you made sure that the exhaust manifolds or headers does not protrude (block) across any of the exhaust port of the head ?

I didn't notice any issue with the EMI manifolds. I used a Merc exhaust gasket. I really like Mercs graphite gaskets.

9:1 compression. Stock MPI intake manifold with 3" of runner milled out. Power hit a brick wall at 5300. Only 3 HP difference between 5300-5500. It would make a lot more with a carb instead of the restrictive EFI.
