Default Fuel Lines?

Been looking through all the threads for fuel line info for my vst conversion. What's best, push on or nylon braided. From what I see on cp website neither say cost guard approved on the outer surface.
Are these the same hose that I can buy at Jegs, like the Russell twist lock or the nylon braided hose on there website?

Ultimately you'll end up making your own choice however for fuel I use SS braided with aero quip fittings. Oil lines I use push loc hose and fittings.

Trying to stay away from stainless braided just in case of arcing, just not sure if the nylon braided thickness is the same for the russell vs "marine" hose.

I've bought from cpperformance and jegs. Main reason I went with ss braided on fuel was due to a previous experience with an impeller going out on sea pump and cause marina was nearby and boat was in water for weekend I had them replace impeller etc. needless to say somehow they managed to slice water hose with razor knife by accident which leads to another story. It was about a 1" slit and not noticeable being on the under side of the hose however didn't take long to make a mess. After that I decided to use ss braided. I typically do my own work and tend to stay away from fuel, water and oil lines with with anything sharp but evidently some certified merc mechanics don't take as much percausion. Just thought I'd share my experience.

I have however used some pretty good reinforced hose that was extremely tuff stuff that came from jegs or cpperformance. Nylon and fittings were available from same vendor. Some hose comes with the nylon molded right on it. See pic below. This would be extremely difficult to slit even if you try.

Following, have some fuel lines that will need replacing soon. Not sure if braided stainless is the answer, have a few pieces currently done that way and have had some issues. Apparently none of the liners (last I checked) will stand up to ethanol. Try to avoid it but not always possible either location or budget wise.

by avoiding the ss braided you also avoid your fingers from looking like pin cushions at the end of the day. They do get pricey and can be difficult were you call it quits with it. Bling, bling. Yes gets expensive. I only started using push loc a few years ago and really like it so far.

Thanks guys, like the look and bling factor of the braided lines both stainless and black nylon. My motor has stainless braided lines coming off the vst tank to the rails now, practically touching the distributor cap now and never had issue with them but just one bad plug wire and there would be potential disaster. Leaning toward black nylon braided. right now, getting ready to start my conversion from the crappy vst system to Aeromotive fuel pump with return to the tank
