Default Anyone see a copy of Hot Rod Engines???

Inside there's an article on a 565ci BBC that was built by DNE Motorsports Development for a guy in CA.
What's so interesting about this motor is that it pumps out 1050hp @ 6600 and 882 lb-ft of torque @ 5300 running on 91 octane pump gas with a single carb and idles happily at 900rpm.
The owner will be installing in a 21' Eliminator Daytona jet boat.

Can you imagine having 1000hp in a 21' boat????
Get in, sit down, shut up and hang on to your toupee.

I saw that, they run dished pistons with tiny 69cc heads. CR is estimated to be 11:1.

Block is a Dart Big M.
Lunati crank, 4.250 stroke.
Pankl Racing Systems rods @ 6.635 long and their dished pistons @ 4.600 dia.
LSM Systems cam, solid roller with "between 270* and 280* duration, more than .750 net lift and an LSA between 112* and 118*". Actual specs are secret.
RFE Enterprises Pro-Filer cast aluminum heads with 65cc chambers for about 11:1 compression.
Manley Titanium valves 2.450I and 1.800E.
Jesel shaft mounted roller rockers @ 1.7:1.
Dart Big Cheif manifold modified by Wilson Manifolds.
Holley 1250 cfm Dominator modified to flow over 1300 cfm.

That's the basic list of componnents and manufacturers.
There's too much to list.

We know what it does on the dyno. What will it do in the boat?

hey all, occasional lurker only here, but thought i'd put in a comment on the boat /engine in question, the engine was in a 21 ft daytona JET boat and at the drag races at lake ming ,ca would sent this rig low 9's at 120mph and mid 8's at 130 on the juice....afterwards the owner would throw the back seat in and go to the river !!!

One key thing was left out of Iggy's post: it's for drag racing.

sounds like 15 hours inbetween valvesprings and lifters...

Hmm. Lots of output for 6600 rpm. Must have fat torque curve to pull a jet pump like that. I'd have figured it to be peaky..
