Default Gas ported Pistons

Just wanted to know if anybody is using gas ported Pistons in there daily driver boat. Not anything I'm interested in for a build however just curious. I see pros and cons given the right application.

I have heard they get plugged with carbon on daily drivers. Great on wide open only drag cars. Not much input I know, but its all I got.

Evidently they help ring flutter however when the ports start getting plugged I would imagine it would be hard on the top ring basically throwing it off balance. Routine tear downs and maintenance for more racing application.
