looking into getting a set of #879288020 #879288019 Mercruiser Headers they are pricey. So just wonder if anyone has had experience using them and anything you can tell me about them. Any noticeable power increase? Is it worth the bang for the buck? Mabey someone has a good deal on a used set. any info be appreciated thanks

Unless you spin your motor beyond 6k I would have serious reservations about spending extensive amounts of money on exhaust for a SBC. You will find virtually no well documented information for marine SBC header performance improvements. I believe there is a reason for that....
I have not found stockish (GLM) manifolds to be rpm or performance restrictive below 6000 rpm.

Ck on eBay for some deals. I see some good deals on them., I have a sbc boat also but if I was going to use it much I'd defiantly have some exhaust on it just because. Lol.
Remember with those exhaust u linked to need tails also. I'm sure u knew that but just in case.

the stock merc exhaust can handle 375 or so hp. a small block has to be pretty special to not be satisfied with that. the chrome or stainless risers cost about 800 bucks a pair new. worth no more hp. I know. get merc aluminum risers and polish them...

Just out of curiosity what kind of power is your 383. I built one of those for my 73z28 in high school and that engine was incredible. It was 435 hp but 10:1 compression. Torker dual plane and comp 292 magnum cam with closed chamber double hump gm heads. Awesome engine. I know what your up to. And hey that's what it's all about. Having fun and going fast with some cool factor. Bling bling bling. Lol. It's fun regardless. At least your doing what you enjoy and staying out of trouble.

350hp totally fine with GLM's or Eddies or Revolution. Some may argue stock manifolds. Thru hull though of course.
