4150 to 4500 adapter
2 Attachment(s)
I need an adapter to maybe make some pulls on the dyno (557) to compare a 4150 900+ custom carb vs a 4500 1050. Didn't have time or want to pay $$ for one so I just printed one off my 3D printer. Need to add some brass inserts for the bolts. I'm going to start printing some gaskets next. Technology is pretty cool.

What you can do with a 3D printer is pretty cool.

IF you are not going to run a 4 hole spacer under the adapter I would be a little worried about the center piece coming out. They usually have a little more meat supporting itl

That looks cool! Did you use nylon? I ended up buying a taz 5, thing is awesome! I built a heat chamber for it to make printing ABS more reliable!

I printed it in PETG. I think I would have to much warp with nylon for the overall size. I've had some PETG, TPU, Ninja Flex and Semi-Flex sitting in gasoline for a few days to test the chemical resistance.
Yeah, I love my Taz 5. I still believe it's the best bang for your buck. What issues were you having with ABS? |
Heh, since you'll have the two carbs, if you show us the dyno results here, could I trouble you to note the sizes of the venturis and throttle bore's of the two carbs along with noting what type boosters ? Just wanna' see how close the stated cfm's are to the actual carb sizes.

All the hinges, locks and corner pieces are of course printed!! http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i4...pspcvlbvur.jpg |

Did not use the 1050, borrowed an 1150 Dominator that was tuned on a NA 598 850HP. The 4150 flowed ~1000CFM I'll try to get the measurments if the carbs are still at the shop. I just wrote down the 5000RPM and up #'s Left 1000 CFM 4150 / Right 1150 Dominator .....TQ ..... .....CTQ..........HP..........CHP..... RPM 655/668.....697/711.....624/636.....663/677.....5000 654/662.....696/704.....685/693.....729/738.....5500 634/650.....675/692.....724/743.....771/790.....6000 616/632.....655/672.....733/752.....779/800.....6250 598/612.....636/651.....740/757.....787/805.....6500 585/590.....622/628.....752/758.....800/807.....6750 |
So what are you going to end up running?
|
I know this is more about the 3d printer but as comparison we picked up 12-15 hp and improved the entire curve by swapping a 4150 for a 4500 on a 4150 flanged Vic Jr. 2 in. spacer on both.
