Default Gauge Pressure Style Help

I will be pulling the trigger soon on all new gauges. I currently have mechanical oil & fuel pressure gauges. If i want to switch to electrical, do i just need to replace the senders?

If you have mechanical, guages, then you currently do not have senders.
You will need to add electric senders for electric gauges.

dont want to sound like a water cop but mechanical fuel& oil gauge in the boat could be dangerous.[i have had boats set up that way].

Actually a good point. I've considered in the past however didn't for very same reason. Oil don't bother me but fuel? Not only that I gues I didn't realize that the gauges were universal?

To OP be sure and get senders with gauges. Seems like many mercs senders work with most but not always. It just can eliminate headaches for an extra 50 bucks or so. Just my opinion

Thanks, for the oil i was pretty sure was straight forward process. The fuel pressure i was a little unsure because my fuel lines run from electric fuel pump to manual pump, then off the manual pump they ran lines up to the gauge. i could tell this was all non factory work & wasn't sure if was done this way due to a carb or blower engine.

getrdunn- yes i will be ordering a complete new set of Livorsi gauges/senders.

More questions to follow as i begin to re-rig.

No reason to run both mech and electric fuel pumps with your HP. A good mechanical pump will work fine alone.

Are your mech pumps on the sea pumps(Gen V) or mounted to the engine(Mark IV)???

I am 85% sure they are mounted on the sea pumps, but remember who u are talking to. i'll check again this weekend.
My plan was to replace current setup with Holley blue pumps. Since everything is approximately 20 years old i figured easier/more reliable to just replace while the boat is stripped.
