Does anyone make a hose affair that connects to the oil pan drain and then can be attached to/through the transom with appropriate fittings so the oil can be drained from outside the boat. Seems like a good idea to me, life would be easier and draining would get more goo out of the pan (rather than sucking it up through the dip stick tube).

How about this??

It's basically a long hose that replaces the standard plug in your oil pan. When you want to drain your oil, you feed the end of the hose through the hole in you transom where the bilge drain plug goes and drain away...

Steamin', I have that set up but its a pain to get under there and direct it to the hull drain hole. I would like a permanent installation that I don't have to climb under my engines to deal with. Ok, that's it...........I see a market..........lets design it and sell it!!!!!

I have designed and produce an all stainless plug arrangement that caps the oil drain hose, has 3 inches of rod, then a swivel( the swivel is so you can start the threads with the hose pulling sideways on the plug) on the drain plug at the back of the boat. You can still drain the water out of the boat by pulling out partially, or by pulling further, drain the oil. I don't have any pics right now but will try to get some.

Hmmm....My 2000 Mercruiser motor came right out of the crate with the drainhose AND special bilge plug with a swivel and tether. Sounds just like what 27 F has designed. Can you say "Copyright Infringement" ?
Oh, BTW- it works just fine, especially with the oil warmed up.

I have one of those drain kits on my 454 pan......but instead of sticking it out the hull drain hole, I use my siphon pump to pump the oil out of the drain hose. Takes about 3 minutes to get 7 quarts out!!!
