sorry to butt in here but your PM is full.

I saw on a year old post of yours about reversion, you mentioned inserting a ring on the bottom of exhaust either in the inner dry exhaust pipe or after the water mixes. You mentioned a "wave" shaped half ring with the wave "break" pointing toward the rear.

can you explain a little more so i can try one. this reversion is tough to stop.

How tall is this ring? so as not to restrict exhaust flow. Are you talking about something that looks like a half of what a turbulator would look like, except just one half welded in to the bottom of the collector?

I am putting on 3" alum extensions on the Eddie Marine standard elbows i just purchased and may need to add this "dam" type ring you described.

Yes, standard rotation. So given the slight inconsistency of pulls from day to day and in my case possibly because of the pans themselves it's sometimes tough to know where to draw the line and say good enough. Wait! I know, I'll just swap the pans on the dyno as well. Right

The more you kick the right side of a pan out the more power the motor will make. The pan in the pick is a very poor example of a horsepower pan. The large capacity does nothing for power unless you run it low on oil.

I had very tight clearances in the boat these pans were intended for. It was the only way to get decent capacity. They aren't necessary on this boat, but I'm not changing them out at this point.

Yeah. You really don't need a dipstick. As soon as it starts running good add oil.

I'll answer this for BCK, since he's probably still in bed with his woobie. The engines were stripped down in dyno trim, not with marine exhaust or accessories.

Were you guys talking about the Wilson 4 hole spacers??

He may have me blocked still, we got into it when he said I had garbage engines, yet mine were full boat trim with marine exhaust and accessorys, designed by the same person..
