I know the old HP950 carbs kinda sucked. I think the new ultra xp 950 is a totally different carb thou

I was told by AED it flows 820 cfm. Why do they call it a 950.

Some good info. Make note of cfm used on average etc with the different carb sizes. It may surprise some non-carb guru's. Regardless it's good material for all of us with the exception of test engine is a stroked Ford. Lol.

450hp small block with single pane intake.
In the marine world our 383sbc's 450hp use RPM dual plane intakes and 750 Holleys. Our 450hp 454's use rpm's and Vic jr's with 850cfm carbs and can use some more. |

In the past, although some HP carburetors may have been labeled as 950, their actual flow rate was probably somewhere in the 800’s. In an effort to stand behind their offerings, Holley pulled out all the stops on the new Ultra HP carburetor line and offers the new Ultra HP 950 as a true 950 CFM carburetor.
