Default 525 upgrade question

Has anyone tried the Hardin Marine stage 2 upgrade for a 525?
Is worth it? http://www.hardin-marine.com/p-26620...y-525-efi.aspx

That's just crazy, you can send your computer out to whipple or precision for under 1k and have the same thing done. You just don't get the fancy flame arrestor. Also with the re flash you have to run premium fuel. Most people say you get about 1 mph but way more mid range acceleration.

It also includes the throttle body being milled to increase airflow. May be a waste, just thought I'd ask around.

I asked some people which are more educated on the subject. Sounds like it isn't really worth it on stock engines. So your original opinion was correct.

true ^^^ if you want a real upgrade, put blower pistons in it, cam and a 3.3 whipple, 750 easy hp, but their expensive

no personal experience with that setup but seems like a lot of dough for not a lot of "go". whipple is way to go for real meaningful upgrade.

I completed two 525 EFI upgrades right at the 650 HP mark, torque was 650. This was done with modified intake and TB. Heads were bowl blended, with cam change I switched the 555 ECU over to a Holley ECU. Adapted harness and all sensors and coils, changing crank trigger wheel and pick up. Modifying a set of different heads to adapt heat exchanger or buying s set of Darts would be worth the $$$... The limiting factor is the intake, larger TB could be adapted, but the cost of adding upper plenum area is the breaking point of buying a different ram intake... Shorter runners, would help carry 6000 rpms.
