[QUOTE=1MOSES1;4446718]What did you rebuild with? I'm thinking going Johnson. Everyone I've talked too recommended them

Went with the lifter gm uses in ZZ572
GMPP- 17120060 kit

Sonic - is that a tall body Crane lifter ? For some reason I have this in the back of my soft mellon.

After some research to refreshen, yes, those (GM# 17120060) are almost certain the long body Crane HR lifters for the Gen VI BBC's.

Question is are they good for 160#, are they a high rpm racing lifter, and where are the tie bars?

No tie bars, these are Gen VI tallbody (for high lift cams) dog bone lifters.

Can't help on the first two questions, but they don't use tie bars because they use the stock GM spider and retainers that come with the Gen VI blocks' roller setups. They are similar to the stock lifter, but they have a longer body so that the top edge of the lifter cannot drop below the retainer (dog bone) when it lands on the base circle of the cam. Higher lift cams typically have a smaller base circle, thus the need for the longer lifter body.

Great minds think alike - you just do it by not being long-winded. :)

I have an idea since I think the GENVI ZZ572 lifters are made by Crane and the 525EFI uses the same, does anyone have a used 525EFI lifter they can send me ? I'll buy a ZZ572 lifter, take them apart, and compare. Would love to know for sure.

Thought crane went out of business in 2009? How are they still making parts?
