Default Thunderbolt 5 replacement - MSD ?

Help! I don't have a Thunderbolt 5 module or a knock module. How can I get up and running quickly, and wise? Should I buy an MSD 6AL ? Can I wire that into my factory distributor pickup?

Second that, was going to be a pace boat at the OPA AC race, but a failed MSD (brand new) had me limping back to the dock on one engine.

I think I have a thunderbolt distributor at home. I took out when I upgraded to my 598 in my 27 in a box. If interested have it to you in a jiff.

I have a thunder bolt IV distributor.. but the boat originally had a thunderbolt V. So, maybe ill stay away from the MSD. Some say they've had good luck with the Mallory. Question is, can i wire that into my thunderbolt IV distributor module. Just the white/green and white/red wire... for the magnetic pickup?
